Event Grand Piano Series presents Kate Liu Kate Liu , piano Chopin — Nocturne No. 14 in F-sharp Minor, Op. 48, No. 2 Three Mazurkas, Op. 50 Two Polonaises, Op. 26 Ballade No. 3 in A-flat Major, Op. 47 Schumann — Arabeske in C Major, Op. 18 Brahms — Piano Sonata in C Major, Op. 1 Three giants of the Romantic era — Frédéric Chopin, Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms — come together in this expansive program, bridging luminous intimacy and monumental scale. Bound by admiration as much as influence, these composers helped chart the course of 19th-century piano music, creating works that balance poetic sensitivity with dramatic force. From Chopin's refined nocturnes and mazurkas to Schumann's tender, introspective lyricism and Brahms' bold early sonata, the program offers a wide-ranging portrait of Romantic expression — one that moves easily between intimacy and grandeur while revealing the depth and breadth of piano's voice. This presentation is part of the Grand Piano Series . Grand Piano Series is an independent nonprofit organization.
