Event Grand Piano Series Narrative Musicales Immortal Beloved Konstantin Soukhovetski , piano Tchaikovsky — Selections from The Nutcracker --> Following Beethoven's death 200 years ago, his assistant and close friend, Anton Schindler, was left to deal with the composer's last will. Complicating matters are Beethoven's instructions to the executor, which call for his estate, music and affairs to be left to his "immortal beloved." But who is that, exactly? In this program, pianist Konstantin Soukhovetski delves into the heart, mind and private world of Beethoven. Referencing the film Immortal Beloved , the program unfolds through music and spoken vignettes, both real and imagined, tracing the loves and life of one of Western civilization's most influential composers — and unveiling a new transcription of an iconic movement. This presentation is part of the Narrative Musicales Series presented in collaboration with Grand Piano Series, an independent nonprofit organization.
