Fascinated by human scripture, communication and language, Xu Bing had his international breakthrough with his 1989 monumental installation Book from the Sky in Beijing. As the former director of the prestigious Beijing Chinese Academy of Fine Art (CAFA), Xu Bing has found a balance between creativity, innovation and political directives.
